Please copy the information and give to others…And remember that all year long we can contribute to these organizations and we can assist the earth by reducing our daily "carbon footprint."
AMERICAN RED CROSS The Red Cross is providing much needed shelter, clothes, supplies, food and blood for the people affected by Hurricane Sandy. Donating blood and goods are accepted however you'll be doing more for those in need by donating money instead of physical goods. My personal opinion, money is always better. The donation will show up on your wireless bill, or be deducted from your balance if you have a prepaid phone. You need to be 18 or older, or have parental permission, to donate this way. Phone:866-242-1877. COMMUNITY FOOD BANK OF NEW JERSEY This group coordinates efforts with the state's Office of Emergency Management, as well as with state and local nonprofit organizations. NEW YORK CARES This NYC group is "the city's largest volunteer organization,running volunteer programs for 1,300 nonprofits, city agencies and public schools." They are recruiting volunteers to help with Sandy relief efforts including raising money and other programs to help those in need~this is a fabulous organization! ONE WITH CARE PERSONAL FAVORITE ORGANIZATIONS*****New York Cares also collects "thousands of gently used, freshly laundered winter coats each winter and distributes them to thousands of men, women, and children who would otherwise be cold."
